Reservation
Once a reservation is made we will tentatively hold the requested date for a period of seven days, at which time a deposit will be required in order to confirm the booking of your function.

Deposits
Weddings require a deposit of five hundred dollars; all other functions require a three hundred dollar deposit, with fifty percent of estimated final bill due three months prior to the date you have reserved. The balance is to be paid seventy-two hours prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy
Wedding must be cancelled a minimum of three month prior to the date of event. All other function must be cancelled a minimum of one month prior to the event. The Whaler reserves the right to retain a retain a one hundred dollar administration fee for a cancelled function.

Other Charges
All food and beverage items are subject to five percent state tax and eighteen percent service charge.

Guarantees
A final guarantee (the number of guests attending the event) is due one week prior to the Date of the function. You will be charged for this number even if fewer attend. We will give every effort to accommodate any increase in the guarantee if space is available. The Whaler will be prepared for five percent over final guaranteed number of guests.

Food
All food and beverage item, with the exception of wedding cakes, must be supplied and prepared by The Whaler and consumed on our property. Menu Selections, room requirements and all other arrangements must be finalized a minimum of three weeks prior to the event. These menus are suggested for your consideration, but if you prefer we will be pleased to prepare a menu catered to your specifications. All food and beverage must be consumed on premises; NO CARRY-OUT WIIL BE PERMITTED

Beverage
The Whaler, as a license, is responsible for the administration of the sales and service of alcoholic beverages in accordance with Mass State Liquor Laws. The staff reserves the right to require a valid photo ID as proof of age and is not obligated to serve alcohol to any individual.

Room and Rental
Function rooms are assigned in accordance with the anticipated guaranteed number of guests. The Whaler reserves the right to reassign the banquet or meeting room if there are fluctuations in the number of attendants. The Whaler reserves the right to charge a service fee for the set up of meeting rooms with extraordinary requirements. Food and beverage purchases may generate meeting room discounts.

Linen
If color coordinated linen is requested, excepting what The Whaler has in stock, the actual rent cost will be charged.

Audio Visual
Audio Visual requirements are available through The Whaler Catering office. Rates are quoted upon request.

Liability
The Whaler reserves the right to inspect and control all private functions.
Liability for damage to the premises will be charged accordingly. The Whaler cannot assume responsibility for personal property and equipment brought onto the premises.

Consumer Advisory
All meat, fish, game, poultry, and dairy are handled by food service professionals and considered with confidence to be safe. However, we are required to cook all products in accordance with the recommended food safety standards. If a guest orders any undercooked or raw products we cannot be held responsible for the unlikely occurrence of food borne illness.
